well I only got to race once this year But it was at the Round-up and we won. :bananaman Thanks to people letting me win cause I was hosting the event I guess I can say that I was undefeated in 2005 So, how did everyone else do?
Had a pretty good shot at the championship until double points day. Didn't win a round that day....put too much pressure on myself. where I eneded up I don't know....nor do I care. Chasing points SUCKS! Average rounds won is 4 Usually 6 rounds per race), which is a LOT better than usual, at least for me. Won a little $$$ though and stashed it back for yearly freshen up.
Well, since I didn't even have a street car to race this season, it pretty much blew. But, it did give me the opportunity to enjoy spectating instead of being under the hood of the car most of the time. Because of that, I'm a new fan of the "True 10.5 Outlaw" class. Jimminy Cricket! 1200+ hp on 10.5 tires?? Good luck to everyone next season!
Hmmm... learning the ins and outs of bracket racing and the car has been a humbling experience...but a lot of fun too. The most fun I had was at Round-up and Mooresville. Oh yea....BTW...I ain't "lettin" you win next year
considering i didn't think i was even going to race this year at the start of the season, things went great. i won the sportsman class championship at the track. also i won the national dragster challenge and got the wally. on nov. 30th at phoenix i won the quick ford class at the fun ford weekend.
Well, no wins but we shaved a full second and added 5 mph from where we started, and mostly with the same parts. Took weight out, fresh tires and drivin' like we stole it!!
Well I worked some of the bugs out, took over 2.5 seconds off my first ET, and broke 101 MPH. No broken parts or limbs, looking forward to getting back out there next year. (Tells himself again, 'This is a fun car, not a race car.' )
I was happy to get a race in this year and go faster than expected. I am very new at this and have been dying to race for a looooong time. I rushed it a little and probably shouldn't have raced because my brakes were in horrible shape. I can't wait to go again and keep improving. Sure is fun. There seems to be some great Maverick racers on this board and I appreciate all the knowledge you guys provide us newbie racers. Thanks.
I took off almost 1/2 second (1/8th mile), but spent the last half of (your) racing season with my car on blocks, cutting the shock towers, and putting in the GT40Ps, headers, and Torker intake. We then had a hurricane that put me back two weeks, and then I got sent out of town to Guam/Hawaii for work for the next 3 weeks. I just got the car back together and new street-legal exhaust (with dumps!) goes on Friday. Might race Friday if the track is open... My racing season is actually just starting, since it stays warm enough to race here pretty much year around, and the mosquitos and humidity are thinning out right now. Keep in mind, I am not bragging about the racing season here...ours is just flip-flopped from everyone elses. Mosquitos, rain, and hot/humid weather keep us indoors during much of the summer, and cooler weather brings us out fall and spring.
Matt you forgot to mention you also tested your fire suppression system as for me.....I still hav'nt gotten mine to the track......maybe I'll get a chance yet Mo-Kan runs thru the end of the month (I can always hope)
