If you are doing a complete transplant, it is easy. Unscrew the mirror from the door. Take the chrome nut off of the remote control knob mounted inside the door on your panel. If you then remove the inner door panel, it will be a bit easier to do the installation of the new one. Simply guide the cable out of the door while removing the mirror assembly. Installation of the new one is the opposite of removal. If you opt to remove the door panel, be careful. It is easy to tear the cardboard holding the retaining clips during removal. It is possible to do without removing the inner door panel, but it will be easier to guide the cable assembly to where you need it to go if the panel is removed and you can see what you are doing.
