Let me know too. I was getting in my 75 grabber and broke it off with my knee! I was just thinking of epoxy to fix it since I still have the knob.

I see the so-called joystick repair parts on Ebay all the time. I've never used one but I'm skeptical as to how they would work. I guess if you need one bad enough it might be worth a try but it's been my experience that these cannot be repaired. If anyone does it, let's hear about it.

Never looked at the Maverick mirror closely but on the Cougar/Mustang mirrors the knob is threaded. I bought one from a guy on e-bay to fix a Cougar mirror, just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. Autokrafters sells them also.

The knob is solid on the Mavs. They are made of pot metal and are inherantly hard to fix. I haven't seen one successful fix yet. It's a real shame because a lot of them end up that way it seems.

I thought I had a fix for mine when I found an identical remote from a Mustang II, but the problem is you can't separate the remote from the cable. You also can't separate the mirror from the cable, which means you can't separate the base from the mirror. The base on the Mustang II is shorter than the Maverick, so the whole assembly is useless.

you can separate the remote from the cables, i used a screwdriver to spread apart the tabs, go real slow or they will break. i broke one side on mine, used a cable tie to hold it in place works fine
