there is a very realistic chance i will be removing my AC. although it may be repairable, i dont think that stock unit was particularly effective, on its best day.
since there are so many question marks and i broke off a nipple of the heater core the other day (while removing hose, as to by-pass it) i just decided i probably should get the heavy monstrosity off of my engine, to make the ugly water pump job a little more accessable.
i once had another maverick, and removed the AC. (cuz it didnt work either) somehow, it screwed up my ducting.
the only air/heater vents that worked were the defrost. can someone tell me how to avoid this happening on maverick II?
are there vaccuum hoses to plug, or be "tee'd", or re-routed elsewhere?
and im also kinda dumb about AC's. since i havent had the car long, i dont know if there might still be freon or pressure leftover from the previous owner.
i wouldnt want to just rip off the AC. isnt it dangerous? doesnt pressure have to be released gradually?

if so, how is this done?

    thanks
