Some time ago I read posts about how to remove the crome located just above the doors "the drip rail" is what I think ya'll called it.

First I sat in the front seat with the door open. I took a block of soft pine wood ( 2x6 ) and with a 2# hammer I started at the front of the car working my way to the back. I used the block's 6 inch surface area to contact and grap the small lip located on the underside of the crome. This popped the crome out fast and safely. On the small peice at the rear I gently pried it off with a screw driver.

The whole process took me about 8 min.

Hope this will help someone! Mark

Has anyone else ever tried this technique?

I actually put on a pair of gloves and pushed the bottom of it off from front to back...your method sounds like it would have been easier! I have not yet put it back on...hope it goes on pretty easily...

    Easy

I took a bottle opener and wrapped it up in black tape ... just started on one end and slowely worked my way around ... came off without a hitch and only took me about 10 minutes per side ...

I used a large dull screwdriver to tap them off from the underside. To put it back on, a rubber mallot works great. Tap on the edges and not on the flat surfaces. My Sprint had all painted trim and now it has all stainless. I like the look.
