Bad year for my Mav - death by a thousand paper cuts. Fuel gauge sending unit and speedometer cable crapped broke so I was driving without gauges, oil leak at the valve cover, brake master cyl etc. etc. and then my driver's side window roller snaps off. Now I am left with a nub and I can't figure out how to get the dang thing off. No clips or screws or any indication I can see to pull it off. I'm sure I am overlooking the obvious. (it is a 71 if it makes a diff). Can anyone help?

There is a sticker/decal covering the phillips screw. Use a screwdriver to poke a hole in it or pry it off. New ones are available from AutoKrafters.

Thanks Craig. It looked to me like solid metal all around. I figured there had to be a cap or a decal or something. Tnx for the AutoKrafters tip too.

Ford just loved to hide stuff like that just to tic us backyard mechanics off.

YA, unfortunetly, FORD is much better at hiding things now. I should know, I have never been more pissed off at fixing something than the head gasket on my 94 tbird.
