Hey, I was just wondering if there is anyone else on this forum from Reno, NV or around Reno, NV. Looking for some local people to possibly go race with, or meet up with during Hot August Nights.

If I remember right Sierra Grabber isn't that far from the Reno / Tahoe area. The only thing is he isn't on here much anymore.

We did a meet about two years ago with the Reno Mustang club at the Holiday Inn. It was a small turn out.

I've always wanted to go to Hot August Nights. They won't accept my car, cause it's a 73. They only take 72 & older......

Hello to all of you, thanks for the replies, nice to meet all of you. Thanks for the links and names of other local people I'll have to go check out the site and see if i can message the other guy.

I can check with Hot August Nights but I believe that each year the year of the cars gets move(ie if 2 years ago the cut of was 72 this year it maybe 74).

I don't pay to participate in Hot August Nights and do the cruises, There are plenty of other events to participate in during this time that do not require you to pay Hot August Nights Office the outrageous prices that they charge.

There is Drag Racing at the Reno-Fernley Raceway, you can bring any car to this.

Hot August Nights started out as just a bunch of local people hanging out then the city took over and there are a lot of locals that still find locations to hangout but refuse to pay the city so if they won't let you in you could come down anyway and find places to hangout and look at cars and meet people.

If your local, your better off hooking up with the Mustang guys, Brent and I went , it's not a big doing, but well put together. As far as Hot August Nights go, well I'v been there many a year ago, had a picture taken under the old arch, was a good time, then the gang bangers showed up and made a mess of things, Reno had egg on their face, cars were trashed , people were beat up and ripped off, I think now a days it's back to being safe to come to the event, but I don't know for sure. But booking a room is still a year out , so I guess it must be Ok.

This Reno gig brings back some bad memories , we had like 32 people say that they would show up and guess how many did?
