Just curious if anyone has used the Auto Crafters rocker panels and if so how was the fit, IE does it even come close to the original body lines. I am debating about using the replacement rocker or just section about 4" for rust repair.

I looked into buying one of them a few years ago....it was going to take several weeks, maybe months (If I remember right) to get one....seems they are a hit/miss item. They acted like if I would have called the week before, I could have had one the next day.

My uncle ended fabricating one for PINKY.

I'm replaceing the drivers side one on my '69.5 with one from my '76 parts car. The passenger side one on the '76 parts car will be used to repair both my brother's '73 2 door and the rest will be stored away to one day repair the one on my '74 Grabber.

They aren't to hard to find in good condition on junk cars, at least down here...

Keep in mind the repops only do the door area of the rocker ... they do not extend to the rear wheel well or very far behind the front fender ..

Bought the Rocker Panel (its a cap not a replacement rocker). Fits like garbage. It is long enough to go from the front fender all the way to the rear wheel well. Problem is its flat, no contour radius like the original rocker but the way it is bent I have to trim the bottom lip where it would weld to the existing lip in order to suck it in far enough to even come close to the contour of the old rocker pics to follow as soon as I figure out whats wrong with the camera.

Yes the battery is charged and the lense cap is off:biglaugh:

Best bet is to have fab one up yourself or pay somebody to do it. Shouldn't cost more than $100.00 Sheet metal is cheap and roughly an Hour labor. At least then you know it's gonna fit and last a long time.
