Replacing cowl

    73 Maverick / 2000 Harley Low Rider
    Is it difficult to replace the cowl on my 73 Mav? Someone put a ton of gunk on it, plastic filler or fiberglass resin, to hide what I think is rust. And where can I find a good replacement? Everything seems to be ok around the windshield as far as not rusted out.

    It's not easy. Do a search on here about cowl replacement. You need to find a donor car to get another. They aren't repod.:)

    Find a donor car. Drill out 123 spotwelds to remove the cowl. Repeat on your car. Repair rust, replace tophats. Prep. Prime/paint/seal cowl inside and out. Weld 123 spot welds. Drink a beer.

    I wonder if it would be easier to replace the bottom of the cowl from inside the car?
