Has anyone replaced the headlight switch in their Maverick? I know how it is removed, just need to know is there an easy access to it?
just pulled mine Friday... no easy way..:sorry: I pulled the inst. cluster, took the heater controls loose and then... the headlight switch... then after all this...it was a 10 amp...running lights...fuse...
Kinda figured that. I just know that you can't get to it just by reaching under the dash. The knobs on the heater control, do they just pull off with a bit of force in order to get the faceplate off?. I've had the faceplate loose and I can see a couple of screws that hold the heater control in place. I'm giving it a go here shortly when it warms up a bit. Thanks
Those heater cont knobs pull off.. carefully. Did you know there are a couple of different style knobs? Some are pricey.. Just shareing some info incase one breaks or comes up missing..
Ok Frank, After removing the small screws on the upper part of the instrument cluster on your Mav, is there anything else holding it in?
I seem to remember having to reach way up into the dash behind the cluster to squeeze the connector of and remove the speedo cable.. Then there is a plug in connector for the wire harness going into the cluster also.. Come on Frank.. Get back on here and help this guy out
thanks Gene...:Handshake only thing else I would add is...there are... two pegs ...at the bottom of the cluster that you will have to raise up out of the slots...
Bearing that in mind, hope the PO of your car didn't super glue them on like mine were. I was able to change mine without pulling the inst cluster just taking off the heater plate (after cutting apart my control knobs with the dremel) and pushing the heater control box back and to the right.
