Resto question!

    ok so i pulled my fenders off tonight, underneath you can see , above the door hinge on top body , theres like a hard thick body caulking thats chipping off, im noticing it goes all along body seams, where too metals are joined.....whyyy is this there? is there something i need to replace it with? i notice autokrafters has different types of bedding compounds...any kinda help will be apprciated! :Handshake

    it was probably to keep water out from between the pieces of metal. i'd say chip it off and replacs with somthing fresh.

    Eastwood has a variety if sealant. Or just pick up a can of spray on undercoating at any auto supply store. Be very liberal with the stuff.

    It's called seam sealer. None of the body panels are fully welded. They're all spot welded. So, they need something to keep the water out. It's also there to dampen out some vibrations and squeaks and rattles. It's nasty stuff and I hate it with a passion, but it does what it's supposed to.

    If it's chipping off, then it needs to come off the rest of the way and be replaced with something similar. Or you can get actual seam sealer http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/...Google-_-Auto_Repair-_-automotive_seam_sealer

    Yup Seam Sealer, take the time to scrape it off and replace it, it comes off easily.
