The reverse pattern keeps you from shifting into neutral instead of third going down the track. (never a good thing) They are usually manual shift valve bodies made only for track use. Higher constant pressure and very aggressive shifts at any RPM. The shift pattern is P, R, N, 1, 2, 3 instead of the stock P, R, N, D, 2, 1. If you start out in 3 you are in high gear - no automatic shifting.
thanks again paul does anyone such as trans go or b&m etc make a kit to convert a c-4 valve body to reverse? if so what is part number of kit..thanks
Nope! the only way to get one is to order the valve body in modified form. Jay at Broader Performance has them for around $225 which is the lowest price I have seen on a quality valve.
Broader Perfomance does offer a do it yourself kit for a reverse manual valve body. If you buy from them make sure you mention you are a member and ask about a discount As for the valve bodies that they sell they have 2 different types, one with no engine breaking in first gear and one with engine breaking in first gear. I opted for one with no engine breaking in first because that is what I had in my last transmission and worked great for my application.
thanks for info yellow75. ill be sure and ask for discount always looking for ways to save money lol.
