Filed under: Etc., Hirings/Firings, Ford The engineer known as Ford's "secret weapon", the man Autocar and Automobile have both named Man of the Year, the mind behind the dynamics of the '93 Mondeo and '98 Focus is finally leaving the building. After 38 years with Ford, Richard Parry-Jones will leave the company at the end of this year. Parry-Jones is currently group vice president and chief technical officer at Ford. He has also of late been working to improve the quality of Ford products and their long-term durability with Six Sigma processes. And in addition to all of that, he has also been in charge of Mazda oversight for the last six years. In addition to the Mondeo and Focus, Parry-Jones also developed the European Sierra, the Ka, Fiesta, Puma, Cougar, and Galaxy.
