    i have 275/50/17 's and want to run 245/45/17's

    on my centerlines

link says that the 275's are 10.82 in wide and the 245's are 9.64 in wide

and the rim width would be

    7.5 to 9.5 for the 275's

    and 7.5 to 9.0 for the 245's

what's a good way to find out how wide my rims are without taking the tire off

Go to yuor nearest tire dealer and let em use the calipers they use for the wheel balancing machine to see what width they are.

i took some mesurments and it's 4'' on the front of the rim and 6 1/2'' on the back side

and to the inside of the LIP of the rim is - outside 3 1/2'' and on the back side it's 6''

and the tire was just under 10'' // that touches the pavement

    so about 9 1/2'' to 10''

some pic's of rims if that may help
