Ok so I am contemplating the rims I shall invest my money in...I am looking at Torque Thrust D's or II's. I am open to suggestions. If anyone has these rims or any other they are proud of and would like to send me pics...I WOULD REALLY BE HAPPY! :p so if you would like to show off your rims, so I can get a visual before spending 800-1000 on rims I would apriciate it!
    send to
    silverpixels1@hotmail.com

    THANKS GUYS!

    HA! Found this site : "Rentawheel.com" !

You can chose your car, add whichever wheels (14" to 18" rims) and decrease or increase the ride height of your car and it gives you a nice visual of what the wheels would look like on your car.

I did it to my BMW and Thunderchicken but forgot to even look to see if they had the Maverick (they don't have MT Slicks or Fronts as a choice anyway).

I just tried it - but my 'new and improved' XP won't allow me to run Java scripts.

Give it a try - it's fun to play with anyhow.

Click on "Tires and Wheels" then input your info.

TORQ THRUST D'S are awesome. If I didn't have my slotted mags, I would definately have d's. Get the d's. Get em.

Being as they are on my car, I would also suggest the Torq Thrust Ds. Classic looks, and very nice wheels.

if your going to buy rims look around on Ebaymotors I got some nice american racing rims with some decent tires for about $400 + shipping which made it like $480 total. I do believe that they were the torque thrusts.

    What look?

If you want something that looks period correct (sort of),
but different and don't want a total aftermarket look,
check out some Mustang supplier sites.
The Magnum wheel has been done but looks good.

The Shelby Cragar wheel is nice looking, came on
    the 65-66 Shelby GT 350's.

There is also the Kelsey Hayes 'Krestlite' (sp?) wheel
that is similar to a Magnum, except that the 5 chromed
spokes in the center are brushed aluminum, other than
that they are similar to Magnums. '67-'68 Shelby GT's.

The '66 Shelby GT 350 also came with a 10 spoke aluminum mag wheel.

The '69-'70 Shelby wheel is pretty sharp.

Mavaholic likes the factory styled steel wheel from '68-'69
Mustangs and some other sporty Ford/Mercury cars. They
came chrome and painted, center hubs and trim rings were
    brushed aluminum or stainless.

As far as aftermarket, period correct, I like Cragar S/S wheels.
For the big wheel and low profile look, I like the Bullit wheels.

    Happy Hunting.

Speaking of rims, I've been considering the Cragar SS style for the classic '70s pro-touring look. Anyone have any idea what this would look like on a Mav?

Cragar SS's look great on almost any car. I had a set on my Sprint a long time ago. Today I like some of the Factory looking wheels. Here's Mustang/Torino factory wheels on my 77.

Here's a reproduction of the same wheel in 15" on my Sprint.

Then there is the '65 or '66 10 spoke.

The 10 spoke I have seen on some
pics of the '65, but I am not sure
if it actually came on it.

I have seen painted steel wheels
15 inch on a '65 Shelby as well
    as the Shelby Cragar wheels.

'66 Shelby cars had the Magnum
as well as the Shelby Cragars,
    and the 10 spoke below.

That 10 spoke would be redesigned
for '67-'68 Shelby cars that you saw
    in the first picture above.

Then there is the Magnum wheel.

A variation of this wheel featuring a
painted wheel with bright trim rings
was available on Mavericks and Comets
    I believe starting in '74 or '75.
I think it was '73 that all Comet/Mavericks
went to 5 lug hubs? Maybe it was '74?

Anyway, I think that any of these would
    look good.
If you want something bigger and more
modern, the late model Mustang wheels
such as the Bullitt style wheel looks good.
Someone here on the board has wheels
from about a '96 Mustang GT on their
car and it looks pretty good. I think that
spacers have to be used, I am not sure.
