Hey guys i was wondering if the rockers on 302 from a maverick are bottom out rockers or adjustable rocks? Or is there a certain torque they should be tightened down to?

Also do u think a 2 1/2 in ehaust is to big for the 302?

    Thanks

If they are stock they are not adjustable ... you just torque em down ... Check a Chiltons for specs ...

I think you need to torque them while the lifter is sitting on the base of the cam and the valve is closed.

How about some pictures of your Stallion?

I have 3" exhaust on my 306. If the motor is bone stock, you will probably have some carb tuning issues.

18-20 ft/lbs of torque. doesn't matter if valve is open or closed, thats if adjusting adjustable valves. these are probably positive stop and just get tightened to a torque spec. mid '70s are positive stop if they are still "stock".
