    Wow, that guard rail quickly turned into a nice ramp.

    75 maverick, 93 tbird tube car
    probably want more than just a roll bar for that one. full cage, maybe?

    rolled my tbird a couple of years ago. i was glad it was a full tube chassis.

    Complete cage is nice. For my car, it is mandatory.

    I've seen a couple of incidents where the guard rails threw the car into the path of the car in the other lane. The rail deflected (of course), then became a "deflector" once the car reached the guard rail post. The results were not pretty. Had to cut the guy out of the cage and life-flight him to the hospitial (where he eventually made a full recovery).

    I would think that NHRA and IHRA would mandate that concrete barriers replace the guard rails and posts.

    Of course it's up to the racer to determine if he wants to race on the track (with metal guard rails) or not also.
