I am restoring a 73 Maverick Grabber, grabber blue with a black striping. I am starting on the interior and have hit a problem. The original interior from the 74 Maverick Grabber Im using for parts is metalic blue doors and dash, dark blue carpet, and dark blue plastic. My father thinks it should have the grabber blue paint but I keep coming bach to the other car. This interior is the original for that car and has not been painted that way. Is that correct or is the interior suppose to be grabber blue on the dash and doors? Any help would be great, this is my first car and Im not sure where to go after I get it painted. Matt
Dennis is correct. It is probably a metallic blue on the textured metal doors around the door panels. The Grabber should have a black/charcoal painted dash above the bright trim and below the dash pad. That means including the instrument panel. Check with Dennis, he may be willing to send you a pic of his blue interiored Comet GT or give you the color code that he used to restore his Sprint dash. Seth
go check out the auto color library, I believe it is www.autocolorlibrary.com, but if not use a search engine. Contact customer service and they will find the correct colors and codes for that year. By the way, door and pillar paints were usually different than that for the dash. (different matte, and pigments, etc.) I bought avocado green paint for my interior through them and they got it PERFECT!
