My car seems pretty smooth at 60 and even 75-80. but after that the dash begins to shake and past 85 it shakes like mad.. also it seems to do it more when i let off the gas versus accelerating. any idea on what would help with this?

What would help? Maybe driving the speed limit.

Especially here in Cali where they can take away your car if you drive unsafe speeds :yup:

check or replace the u-joints. also worn or sagging trans mount and motor mounts can cause that.

That's what came to my mind also, especially when he said it gets worse when you let off the go pedal. Could also be wheel & tires out of round or out of balance, but doesn't sound like it with the go pedal thing.

My car developed a high speed vibration last year and it turned out to be the trans mount had collapsed. Threw one in on lunch hour and what a difference. Everything is smoother now including the upshifts. Well worth the 20 bucks for a new mount.
