You can tell by questions that I am not a wrench but I'm trying to learn. My 77 Grabber has developed a miss and I don't know where to start looking. The engines runs fine until it heats up a little then it develops a heavy miss almost to the point of stalling. At first I thought it was fuel related but now I think it might be electrical. Maybe the coil or condenser. It has a Holly 600 that was leaking gas on the manifold and I changed the diaphram and now that fine.

The engine has a dual point distributor and a excel coil. It has been sitting for fifteen years. Was running great but now the miss?????

    Many Thanks

Personally I'd trash the dual point. Get a stock unit and put a petronix set up in it or convert to the Duraspark system. I'd bet your problem will go away.

I agree with Mavaholic. Put in a stock distributor & pertronix ignition. I did that to my 73 Comet 2 months ago. What a difference.....And I never have to worry about points again. Really seen a difference in the 1/4 mile, no point bounce. Can install the pertronix in about 5 or 10 minutes (real easy fix). The kit cost around $80.00 at your local parts store. I also installed a new Accel coil, cause the Master blaster coil finally failed (had it 5 years).

Thanks Mavaholic. I think I'll take your advice and head to the parts store. I really appreciate your reply.
