Ok guys, here are the results of the first ever RoundUp Bracket Race:

JOHN FORD was the man! He raced Lee Richart in the final and was able to come away with the "W". Both of these guys were serving it up each round, and deserved to make it to the finals. There were many others who also were making it happen all night, but in the end, these two rose to the top.

Neal Stewart, and Nick Dominick fought their way to 4 cars and came up a tad short when the smoke cleared! Not bad for a couple of first time racers. There is the distinct possibility that Neal (Squeal1) is hooked, and may make another trip to a track before next year's RoundUp.

Jim Allen cleaned up on trophies, earning the trophy for the lowest ET of the event with a 6.50 second blast, AND the Best Appearing trophy!

Rudy Bidlack came away with the Lowest ET for a street-tire car, with an 8.14 pass!

And Matt Williams (Maverick Matt) came away with the "Ugly Duckling" award. I called it that because it was designed for the car that has yet to reach it's pinnacle. It may not be at it's peak just yet, but give it some time, and it will definitely be there in the end!

I would like to congratulate everyone for a job well done, and I hope that everyone had a great time. I know that I did.

On a side note, Matt got lucky.....I feel that my car was a shoe-in for the duckling award, however, I ran out of baling wire and duct tape, and was unable to get my junk ready in time for the event!

    Later Guys,

I will post some pics in the morning...sorry, but it's been a long couple of days!

In my best Elvis voice: Thank you, thank you very much! :D I worked real hard putting that $2 roll of carpet and the cigarette lighter (uh, power socket :)) in the car this week. I couldn't have done it without the fine individual that nominated me. :p

I was just psyched to knock a almost a full second off my previous best 1/8 mile ET and almost 10mph faster! AND I didn't break anything! :)

My best time was a 9.07 at 79mph with a 2.25 rt. My next best was a 9.11. My first three were all around 10 seconds, with various problems (spinning tire to half track, vapor lock, and letting up because my car started to get squirrelly around half track. My 1/8 mile #'s have been updated in the timeslip db... we have too many fast cars, i'm waaay down there.

I didn't get traction until I hit 3rd ... just did 2 time trial runs since I didn't want to break anything. My first run almost had me sideways when I hit second! Whew! .. I eased on up on the second run and ran a 9.8 at 76 MPH ...
