I just replaced my fender with one I got from a junk yard, I wanna remove the rust myself before I get it painted so it costs less. I just happen to have some HCl laying around in my garage, would that remove it with out damaging the fender any?

what's HCl ? use some paint stripper and clean it off very well and get sand paper to finish it off.

Yeah,, I dont know what HCI is either. But Wayne gives sound advice. Gotta pic of the fender? Are you dealing with surface rust or actual holes?

I'm Afraid I'm Not To Young, just Never Heard Of It That Way, Sorry. Usually I Just Sand Everything With My Da Sander, If I'm Going To Metal I Start With 80 Grit And Work My Way Down To 320 Before I Wash The Part With Wax And Grease Remover, Then I Sand With About 800 And Clean Again Then Spray A Sealer On Then Primer, Then Sand And Block And Somewhere Along The Line I Finally Put Some Paint On The Part....whewwww....thenits Lunch Time.
