I have a 1977 four door maverick. I was wondering what are the best techniques and products to use to get rid of rust on the fenders and doors?

Thank you for your reply. Because I currently have fender rust and some holes that need to be patched.

if it is the front fenders, they bolt on and off. you may consider finding some at a junk yard, unless you actually are in prussia. if it is the back fenders, there are some posts on welding in repair panels. Good Luck

I agree. I have just removed two dented fenders (no rust) and swapped with another set of non rusted, non dented ones (actually, just a little surface rust and one little dent, but much nicer than the stock ones).

Brand new ones are available from AutoKrafters for about $150 plus shipping. I paid about $75 each for mine. You are closer to Georgia, ask Jamie if he knows of any for cheaper and drive to pick them up. There are lots of good parts on the east coast.

I figure I will put the stock fenders in the attic in case I ever need some rust free steel to patch up a hole in the future.
