im looking at buying this car but im not sure about the rust. its mostly on the surface on some of the car but on the rear left quarter panel and around the left tail light it looks like there is some pretty bad rust. how much time and money do yall think it would take to fix?

Unless you're a really good paint-n-body guy...(which you're probably not because you asked the question...)

Or you have a lot of money to burn...(which you probably don't because you asked the question...)

I have one word for you: DONTDUIT!!!

yea thats a lot of rust man i mean if you have the time and the money to sit down and do it ... meaning cutting it all out re welding it all back in make it flush and then doing the minor body work to cover it all up then go for it. but if you dont pick it up and save it who will...????... thats why so many muscle cars get throw in the junkyards and just rust away im restoring a 66 mustang that was my dads first car im having to replace every piece of metal in it nothing can be saved but its his first car and that worth more than just junking it just food for thought man but id go for it and save her

Just from that ONE picture you posted, that car is a total rust bucket. If that was the only picture I had to look at (which it is), I would say "parts car".

You must also take into consideration the fact that sheet metal panels and such are NOT reproduced for Mavericks. This should weigh hevily in your descision making process while checking the car out thouroghly. Donor parts are around but dont just fall from the trees for our cars...Thats a rusty sob...(And I live in New York!) I would check it thouroghly with a small pick hammer before considering it...Hold out, better ones come along frequently on here and else where (craigs list)

The way that gas tank is installed (?) is enough to turn me away. Butchered is worse than rusty.

Yep like Mavman said thats even rusty up here in the salt belt. I've seen Ontario Mavs better than that. I can imagine what the underside looks like if the top is that rotten. Parts car in my books.

I think its a $200 to $300 Parts car. However there is a better looking Fox body notch back in the background. That would be worth having. LOL

What is the "right price?" I see numerous threads telling you to RUN away from this car, but I guess we can't discourage you. :D

    So what is the price?
