I have little rust spots in diffrent places on my mav where the paint has chipped off like on on top of the trunk and a couple on the hood and on the lower corner of the doors. Whats the best way to prevent the rust from growing? I don't plan on painting the car for another two years because the paint is still in good condition so I don't want a method that will look to sloppy.

Well I guess I'll give my 2 cents worth, the only sure way to stop it is to sand down the area to the bare metal, apply some rust inhibtor and prime it, then try and find some matching touchup paint.
It might not look great but considering the alternative( a hole in your car) its the only sure fire way to stop it that I'm aware of.
