Rusted rear panel above the rear bumper

    The rear metal panel that you see from the rear of the car that the tailights and gastank filler neck is attached to.

    Can these be replaced? Or would it be best just cut out the rust and have metal welded back in?

    Since it is not reproduced you will either have to repair what you have, or if yours is really bad, cut one out of another car. Tail light panels are fairly easy to replace since all seams are hidden behind other body parts.

    I do have a donor car that I can remove the rear panel from.

    Has anyone removed this rear panel before? If so, do have any suggestions?

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Looks like it is just in time! I just hope it doesn't go for an arm and a leg! Mine will need to be replaced.
