Well after many months of searching, planning and buying I have completed my 302 engine build and am ready to install it. I plan to do it over the next few weeks. I will be pulling the 200 inline 6 out that I have spent over 2000 dollars on and only managed about 170 HP from, what a waste. I am going to detail the engine compartment and pull the tranny and paint it with alumiblast. also redo all my underhood wiring to dress that up. Hopefully when you pop the hood it will look somewhat like it came in the car ( with a few minor upgrades ) I am putting a 85 mustang dual snorkle air cleaner and the 85 Mustang aluminum valve covers on it. The engine will be Ford Blue with braided fuel and PCV lines. The valve covers, timming cover, water pump and intake will be clear coated aluminum. The pullies and brackets will be satin black and all bolts are stainless steel. I plan on starting the engine on the ground first as soon as I can build a wooden box to support it. I want to thank everyone for all the advise, tips and parts. I hope it runs as good as it looks. I have spent a grand total of about 3500.00 on this project through new, used, and traded for parts. I think if I had spent all my money on retail items, it would be well over 5000.00

m&m, when i was into "show bikes" i painted all my alum. parts with "alumiblast". it looked like "glass beaded" alum. some even commented on how clean i kept the alum. parts (not knowing they were painted).jmo...frank...
