Can anyone recommend a company that they have used to get front bench seat replacement shoulder / seat belts for our Mavericks? I have a 77 two door and I would like a 3 point with the retractors to be mounted like factory.
    Any suggestions

    thanks
    John

    X3!

Those use the properly shaped fabricated plates that go behind the sheet metal to prevent pull-through and tearing in the event you actually need them.

I like the looks of this set up. Do you use the factory mounting for the top of the shoulder belt? Where did you mount the retractor? Any pictures?
    Thanks guys for your help.

    Seat Belt Install

I used the factory mounting for the pillar loop.

But, since I have a 1970 Maverick (which didn't come with the "retractable" 3-point; I removed the rear plastic side panels, used a ruler & "plumb bob" string to locate a mounting position on the floor to use their "L" bracket to mount the retractor. I transferred the center-line to the side panel - and cut out a rectangle to run the belt through. Out of plexi-glass, I made a rectangle piece with a slit and two 6-32 holes, mounted it over the hole I cut out for the belt -to act as a guide and keep the dust out.

You'll have a much easier time, as you already have mounting locations???

When you get the seat belts, there is no left/right (They are both loomed the same way), so you have to reverse the buckle on one side by rotating the webbing through the loops.

The belt drop hanging in front of the rear window came out of a mid-90s Ford church van. It puts the shoulder belt in a much more comfortable position while using the stock upper hole in my 72. And it matches the stock interior fairly well. I don't know if the later ones were in the same position.

I used 3-point seatbelts from eBay (made for bucket seats) and lap belts from Summit to make a pair for bench seats. The pieces left over from mismatching the belts were used on the rear seats. Everything fit using the factory mounting holes and bolts. http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/maverick_44.html

Am I missing something? Jeff's stock position shoulder loop is halfway down the quarter window. But Jeff's stock position shoulder loop is before the B pillar.

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems '74 and up moved the mounting location forward.

Are you saying any year Maverick parts won't fit all year Mavericks? (y)

    Imagine that!

I have never noticed that shoulder belt position difference before, I kinda like the forward position in your car! I think my '73 is getting a modification. :yup:
