Can someone give me the height of the seat tracks for the Maverick bucket seats, I am moving from a bench seat to buckets and I am fabricating my seat tracks. The height would be from floor to bottom of seat.

    Thanks, Tony

    Hi Tony,

Are you using Ford seats, or aftermarket?

There are a couple varieties of seat tracks ... Grabber/GT and Luxury Decor Option.

I used LDO tracks, (which are much lower, bolt right to the seat) in combination with the factory highback buckets. From the factory, these would have come with Grabber tracks, which raise the seat a couple inches. I am 6' and have always had an issue with banging my knees on the steering wheel, and this combo worked out well.

Got a good picture of it ... post 115 in my project build thread .... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=55560&page=12

The only issue is that Grabber seat tracks also move the seat about 1/2" toward the outside of the car. This puts the seat squarely in front of the steering wheel, using the same holes as the bench seat.

If you use my combo, and the original holes for the bench seat, the buckets will be offset a bit inboard. You may want to slot the existing holes, or weld them up and start over.

    Hello Jeff,
Thanks for the information, I am using high back bucket seats from a 72 mustang in my car. You are absolutely right about the positioning of the seat using the existing holes they throw the seat tighter to the center hump. I believe I can move my holes over 2" to the outside and center the seat to the steering wheel. Like you I am tall and I dont like being crunched, nor do I like my leg rubbing against the console. The seat height question stems from raising the back of the seat 2" to get it sitting level. I seem as though I am sitting on the floor and I was tyring to get the proper offset from front to back.

    Thanks again
    Tony

    Hey Tony,

There are riser blocks used with both types of tracks, but just on the inboard side. The outboard tracks do bolt directly to the floor.

I posted measurements here at some time in the past, but it will take a search.

IIRC ... 1 and 1/8th high at the front and 1 and 1/2 out back.

EDIT .... did a search and couldn't find it ... went out an measured them in the car. Looks more like 1.25" front and 1.5" back. The front was hard to measure with the seat largely in the way, and I am still inclined to say that 1 and 1/8th is correct.
