Do all Mav/Comet buckets fit on all years, such as a high-back would fit a 74Mav? I've done a search but it wasn't too clear on if they would fit right without modification. I just spotted some highbacks and am wondering if they would fit my 74 2door Maverick or maybe some Ldo- buckets. Thanks guys and I'm sure this would be a great thread for all future Mav/Comet builders!
Not sure of the exact year, but around 74 the passenger floor got a big bump put into it for cat-converter clearance under the car. The hump meant that the seat tracks changed too. So, if you got the hump, you need the correct tracks. If you don't have the hump, you need those tracks. Once you get the tracks, you can bolt them to most anything Ford and put them in your car. You can even retrofit your correct tracks to other seats with a little imagination. Bottom line: The correct tracks are the key. Dave
Yep. High back buckets will be bolt in for '71 - '74 cars, and I believe you can change the tracks on them and still bolt them into '75 - '77. You can't put buckets in a '70 at all without spacers under the inside track.
weird...cause mine is a 74 and it looks like it has the cat-converter hump on it.....maybe mine was built late in 74 or something....now that I know the kind a need does anybody have them( i will be posting a ad in the wanted section). Thanks for the help
