Has anyone ever built a sheet metal upper plentumn for a Speed Density 5.0? Like, build a box that will bolt on to the stock lower intake, and adapt the throttle body to a homemade plentumn. Would it run ok? Looking to eliminate that huge EFI plentumn so the stock shock tower braces will still be used.

It's been done many times over at turbomustangs. I believe there is even a production upper plenum similar to what you're describing that fits the truck lower intake...not sure if there is one to fit the HO passenger car lower.

I can make it the box,,,, and going for more of a custom look to the engine, and keep more of the original car in plain sight. Not a fan of cutting up the body, or making a roll cage in the front, to have EFI for the maverick. Custom reloctiong the throttle body to help adapt the efi to the mavericks throttle cable and kick down rod for the auto transmission, and maybe give it a look, nobody has seen before, and it be a Maverick that they seen it in!! Making the plentum smaller in size, yet hopefully maintain a close to stock vacuum pressure,,,, will let the Maverick keep its shock towers braces.
