Has anybody attempted doing a shelby drop on a Maverick/Comet? It's a standard operation on classic mustangs and I think the Mavs have a similar suspension, just wondering if it is doable and if the suspension geometry is similar enough to offer any advantage.

In summary, I don't think there has been a scientific study to quantify the magnitude of handling gain in doing the drop, however, I haven't heard anyone who has done the drop, complain about it.

My take: If you have the suspension out already, and are looking for better handling, go ahead and try it (no biggie to do), if you don't like it - put it back to OEM spec.

Yes there is a difference. It extends to fairlanes and (early)comets as well.
