Anybody remember this hood? It's been on the back burner for a while. Had a lot of things more pressing that trying to get it ready (Katrina stuff and so on) but I'm here to tell ya...it will be painted and on this summer. I'm going to try to find a set of louvers like in the actual 68 Shelby hoods to install in it before I finish it out. I really wanna see what this baby is gonna look like on my car. I may not even like it but I'll never know till I try it.

Very nice! I've been thinking of something like that for years but never got around to it. Good job, I can't wait to see it installed!

o you should make it a "ram air" hood with the inner ducts and stuff.

As much as I would like to I can't take credit for building it. Rick Book had this hood built a while back. (" Rick") I fell in love with it the first time he posted about it since it pretty much follws the theme of my car with the 68 Shelby rear. I was able to convince Rick that it would look much better on my car so he brought it to the Round-Up a couple years ago and traded me for a nice Grabber hood. It is a steel Maverick hood with fiberglass shell grafted to it. I did have to make some crack repairs to the front scoop area which seems to be holding up well. I'm about ready to put the black and blue to it and see what happens now. Hopefully no cracks come back. If they do, I have a local friend that makes molds of steel hoods and makes fiberglass ones. He does very good work. I've already talked to him about making a one-piece fiberglass hood from it. That way, I know it'll hold up. Or maybe I can get Derrick to make me a C/F one.

That's a good possibility in the near future.
