I have an opportunity to buy a set of (5) 1969-70 Shelby wheels with f70-15 polyglas tires. They appear to be in excellent condition and can be had for $850 CDN. This seems reasonable compared to the $1200 U.S. I've seen advertised for 4 new wheels alone. These are exactly the wheels I hoped to use on my phantom Shelby Mav project, but now that I have the chance to get some I realize that I'm not sure that they will fit. Any educated guesses from you guys running 15" wheel/tire combinations (or anyone else, for that matter)? I've attempted to attach a picture one of these wheels, in case anyone isn't sure what they look like, but in light of my past successes at this, I'm not sure whether it will appear or not! Thanks in advance for your help. Sincerely; John B.

If they dont fit you should be able to sell them for 1200 USD ?

Unless you dont like the hassle of selling stuff ( like me ) I dont see how you can go wrong .

I ran 15" on my 77 with no problems but the tire was not that tall. Only place you might have problems is on the front, on a tight turn. The rims alone are worth the money. I'd scrap the tires anyway. If you been driving on radials for some time, you will not like those tires. Also the rims should have no more than 4" backspacing.

Mavaholic; Thanks for the input. Would you happen to know how to measure the backspacing of a wheel correctly? Sincerely; John B.

lay a straight edge across the back of the rim and measure down to the mounting surface.
