Was taking the old motor out of my son's 75 Maverick and noticed that
the shift linkage was bolted to the block. The problem is My son's new motor doesn't have the threaded bolt hole for the linkage. Is this supposed to be a bolt or is it some kind of pivot head. It won't be a problem drilling and tapping another hole in the block but I just wanted to be sure.
    Thanks, Bigsmo:huh:

the later model blocks aren't thread for the older linkage. a simple drill and tap will cure this as long as the new engine has the place for it :)

Yes, there is room for the drill and tap. So it just uses a bolt nothing special?
    Thanks, Bigsmo
