Im not great with terminology so bear with me....last year I did the V-8 conmversion in my 70...last month I attempted to get my hurst quarter stick floor shifter in. I got the linkage adapter from the speed shop. I cant seem to get the old linkage (I assume thats what its called as it does the actual shifting on the transmission) off. My other question is...The stock linkage has a hole at one end for the shifter cord and the top side is another hole for the kick down if im not mistaken? The new linkage has no place to hook up the kick down. I hope Im putting this out there right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks to all in advance.

The top side hole you are talking about is not for the kickdown linkage it was used to hook up the column steering lock, the kickdown linkage should hook to a little shifter handle seperate from the on you are hooking your shifter too.

Hope this makes sense to you
