A little side bar to the work being done on the car. Thursday morning my friend that does this stuff professionally comes over to have a look. He starts out innocent enough with "these rear quarters look pretty good" and it goes downhill from there. By the time we get to the front of the car I'm looking at "orange peel" under a magnifying glass on top of one of the front fenders, so I'm asking do you really think that's gonna show through the finish paint? He says, "you wanna risk it?"..... well crap...I guess not. I worked on it late into the night Thursday and primed and wet sanded it again. So the moral of the story is...When the going gets tough, the tough GO FISHING... and thats what I did...all weekend long...me and my youngest son put quite a dent in the local catfish population. Went back to the car with a vengeance tonight
sometimes that's what you gotta do. walk away from it for a little bit. do something else. then get back and beat the crap out of it. good luck.
yep....thats the smart thing to do.....sometimes we must "recharge" ourselves. That sounds like what you did...way to go Rick
Working on something day and night will burn you out quick. Not to mention you start getting the "thats good enough" attitude. Glad you were smarter than I and took a break.
rick, it was nice to have a friend like that. most of the time they try to tell you how good something looks because they don't want to hurt your feelings...i wish i could have been that "friend" that told you.:evilsmile this is going to be one slick car ...frank... p.s. can we see dennis going "CATfishing"?
I created a monster once I went to Johns house before his uncle started working on his car and I tried to be honest and tactful at the same time but I guess I blew it because by the time we went around his car he said he was ready to scrap it and start over. His car needed alot of work and his uncle did a good job with it, now comes the monster part. since I showed him what to look for he is all over whatever I'm doing, with tact and feeling I might add. Anyways, Rock on Rick. Sometimes it is good to step away so you don't get that attitude Dennis was talking about.
That only works if you don't fix cars every freakin day, day in and day out.... SOmebody HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!
I have been cat fishing before. Didnt need any boat either!! Just a little lemon pepper, fried in butter, mmm......good!
Thanks Frank now if I could get that hug from Big John ford everything would be perfect man I really love this board and all you crazy maverickers.
Here's the image.... Dennis is on a private charter out of the Florida Keys, it's a balmy afternoon and there trolling for big gamefish (Blue Marlin) in about 150 ft. of water, Dennis is sittin in the fighting chair chuggin margaritas and he's about 10 sheets in the wind and hasn't had a decent strike all day. He turns to the deckhand and yells it's time to try a change of bait, the deckhand asks; what's it gonna be,Persian or Siamese?
