My Vinyl top was bad I have removed it and treated the roof with Silver POR 15. I have also painted the top. It looks farely good, so should I put the vynal top back on or completely remove it .

someone said they saw a car with spray on bed liner where the vinyl top goes. said it looked good. on the inside of my doors where the glass meets the door it is rusted from arms being layed on it. i am thinking about spraying the bed liner on it. it has a raised finish anyway....frank...:bananaman :bananaman L.T.N.G.

I have the same quandry with the 4 door. It needs replaced and I can't decide on what to do. I'm probably going to replace it. Basically, it's up to what appearance you want your car to have....keyword YOUR CAR. They look good either way.

I did the same thing...removed the old top and painted over the pitted and rusty area with POR Silver. Although I still need to get the car painted, I already had the new top put on so I could have the glass put back in. I happen to like the vinyl top, but it is really a matter of personal preference...I know that a lot of guys can't stand 'em! Here is a picture:

I've never been a big vinyl top fan,

my vote is to keep it off.

I don't like vinyl tops on cars. I think that Mavericks look especially good without them. But to each their own...

After I treated the roof with POR I painted it with the stock color it looked good, and started to make me think about not putting on the vinyl roof.

I am not crazy about them either. However, with the blacked out tail light panel, grill, side and hood stripes, That looks pretty good.

I have been looking for a pic of the dash, and it doesn't look like I have one...I will have to get a fresh picture of it. I do have an old picture of the dash when it was in my '77, and it doesn't look a heck of a lot different than that...

I vote for Vinyl . Especially on dark coloured cars , assuming the vinyl is black .
