    This is my first attempt at a Poll thread, so bear with me.

    I originally intended to just POR-15 the entire underneath of the hood. My dad said "You fool! Someday, someone will want you to lift the hood and show them the engine, and you want the underneath of the hood to be as pretty as the rest of the car!" :slap:

    I have seen other things underneath, such as mirrors and other reflective surfaces, and the good old-fashioned scratchy fiberglass sound-deadening or fire-proof stuff, as well.

    I almost chose the "clarify in post".

    "Paint it to match the car, with metalflake and high gloss" and "Paint it to match the car, but skip the metalflake and gloss".

    What is the "match" of the car going to be? "Metalflake and high gloss" or not? :hmmm:

    I vote to paint it with the exact paint and mixture as the rest of the car.

    Just my :2cents::2cents: (I recently got a raise :D)

    When I say "match the car" I mean the color of the car. The metalflake and multi-layers of gloss will be on top of the paint. I guess there is metalflake in the paint. I can change that option, I guess...if I need to...if everyone else is going to be as picky as you... :D

    I have to say paint it to match the outside of the car. If the underside of the hood looks as good as the outside of the car, it makes the engine and engine compartment look that much nicer. Just my :2cents: .

    Match the paint if you want more of a stock look... I personally think an underhood black looks the best (say from Eastwood). I don't want the color to divert the eyes away from the engine, which IMO should be the focal point of the engine comp. Just another person's :2cents:...

    Oh, and a note on POR-15... it gets degraded by sunlight. So if you use it in your compartment, make sure you top coat it.

    Scoop, are you talking about the bottom side of the hood or the entire engine bay? I'd say the underside of the hood should match the top side colorwise, glossiness depends on what you like. As far as the engine bay, either body color or semi gloss black both can look good.
