Question? If you were going to enter a Mustang sponsored car show with your Maverick and the only catagories for your ride were: [1] Modified FOMOCO [2]Special Interest Which one would you most likely have a chance for an award? Ken
Man that is a tough question, either class you are going against alot of competition but at a guess I think I would enter under Special Interest, but no matter what you enter under you should not worry about winning and just enjoy the onlookers and thier compliments we know who the winner is in our hearts
ken, we are using the special interst class. i don't think any of our cars can compete in a modified class since most cars in this class are HEAVILY modified ( think the red mustang with the huge blower from silver springs) the sponsers recomended this class for all mavs and comets since not all of us have comets to fit into the mercury class. there are a few cars coming from north fla that haven't competed against you yet. should be interesting. we know you routinely beat my 4 door. still working on that issue. b.t.w. you suck (running joke folks)
is this a pre-reg show? if you can do it the day of the show look to see waht the competition is. then do your choice. lol! if not it is a toss up. one time back when my car was a daliy driver i was in Special Interest Class. They stuck me in with a Blown Pantera... yeah that was fair. the guy that owned the Pantera said to me... you should get these coil packs and crank trigger they are great. i was like how much... he said not much about a grand.
I'm not going to the show with expectations. But I am competitive. I showed my car for 3 years before I won anything. Just wondering which of the two classes would most likely be easiest to place. Other than the KAZILLION Mustang classes there are Pantera, All Shelby, and Falcon classes. The only two that stands out to me that was not listed was a Fairlane and Torino class. I guess they will be in the special interest class also. Maverick Man It is both a pre-registered or day of show. Scouting out the competition before registration is not for me. Like I said before, I'm competitive, but not that much. Ken
It's real hard to say. I put my car in a special interest class before and there was 4 Cobra replicas there...guess which class. These cars were all practically brand new kit cars and there was no way I could compete against them. I still enter the same show now but I put my car in "1969-1980 Production All". Believe it or not, I won the last two times I entered. It's just a big guessing game though...just have fun. Maybe one day there will be a Mav/Com class. There used to be at Fun Ford Weekend years ago.
