I'm new to this Maverick thing having just purchases a (rust free) 1970. I noticed most Mavs have the st. stl. window accents - mine does not. What do I have to do to go "stainless"? Or am I better just biting the bullet and painting these as original when I restore?
do you have a 70 or is it a 69 1/2. they were registered as 70's also. the 69.5 has the key in the dash. the 70 has the key in the steering column? those are what we call boomerangs. some cars are painted. some are chrome. they can be removed by taking the nuts of in the trunk, i believe. someone here will correct me if i am wrong. welcome to the board.
Or are you talking about the window surrounds? I belive they are just snapped on, don't see why they couldn't be added to one without them...
Thanks for the welcome Don. I think you may have misunderstood or I'm not conveying correctly. I'm referring to the SIDE windows - painted trim verses brushed stainless steel. (It's a '70...has the key on the column...and a 250 six that I understand came out in the later 1970 models.)
