I know people have done this before, but i was just wondering how it looks in comparison to a small bumper.

I would rather of had a small bumper but i found it was almost impossible to find a small bumpered comet in my area for anything less then an arm and a leg. So i decided to cut my mounts and sink the bumper back i cut it back 3 1/2 inchs i think it looks real good. I have the medium sized bumper i know late in 73 they started to use the huge extended bumpers like i have on my 4 door 73 could anyone whos done this post pics and how much they have cut out.

    Thanks

That looks real good, my bumper is smaller i think, did you put that metal spacer back in. I had a metal spacer with a rubber one stapled to it. I dont know if i should put it back in because i can see the parts where it mounts to the frame.

P.s. I havent tried to put the metal spacer back in but does it fit i will try very soon but just wondering?

Why are you puting yourself to all that trouble when the 73 bumper looks great the way it is? in my opinion it's the best looking.
