What is the best method for getting the big bumper bolts out of the frame?

The nuts don't seem too accessible.

The nuts are typically spot welded to the frame I believe. When I removed my 73 brackets one of the nuts broke loose and I had to cut the bolt. Had a heck of a time getting that nut out...

Update, only one is spinning.. it's the one closest to the hole in the frame. Hoping I can still get it out. Going to try tomorrow.

Ok, got that one out, but the front on the drivers side spun also. Just finished grinding it off. I've read where the bumper swap requires notching the fenders, I'm assuming that is for the stone guard to fit?

Also, I thought I read somewhere that the holes for the skinny bumper were already drilled in the frame in many cases, not on mine. There's a back hole that may lineup, but no others.

Mine is a 73. I have it bolted up in the existing hole, just to see how it fit... Thanks for the measurements. I still have to notch the fenders. Trying to decide the best way to cut and especially bend the notches.

Thanks, I'll have to look for notches....

So, the top bend looks like it's at the bottom of the headlight bucket.

Not seeing any imprints on mine... I get out a level tomorrow and figure out with a string how much to cut I guess....

I'm having trouble finding Stainless Carriage Bolts for the bracket to bumper bolt up. Where are you guys getting replacements? Or new stainless?
