4" rim is pretty skinny on the street, hope it doesn't ever rain, or you hit a hole in the road. I know it looks cool (maybe more so in the 80's) but...

look around at you local tire shops and ask the most experience guy behind the counter if they carry the old skewl VW bug tires... I think it was 67 and older had 15 inch super skinny tires that would fit your rims and give you the look you are after, and since they worked for many years on my personal 1966 bug I don't see any reason other than the added weight why they wouldn't work on the front of your Maverick. I drove the crap out of the bug in the rain and snow and didn't have any more of a problem than any other car steering it with thos skinny 15's all the way around it

I don't know the size, but I know that they are made.

I ran them on my gto for years, even went on vacation all thru New Mexico , I remember they were 600X15's also bias. I want radial tires and know I've seen them at local rod shows just not sure what the cross referance from bias to radial, I have 255 60r 15 's on 7.5 ansen slots on the back and like the skinny /wide look. I know I've seen several on this site but maybe they were all frontrunner/drag tires.

If you want the drag look , go with a 165r 15 call any local tire store and just tell them you need that size they are the tires that fit on the old volkswagon beetle. (by the way my front wheels are 15x 3 1/2 )

my wheels are weld draglite 15x3.5's like MAV's and I run the 165R15's too. Hadn't had much problem street drivin'. Just watch out for potholes and don't try to corner too hard.:thumbs2:

i have the same wheel and tire combo as 74CometGT351W just mentioned on my 87 mustang daily driver. I have had no problems with them yet, you just cant go try and road race it around corners and you will be fine.
