i just got my 76 as my fist car but the carpet was HORRIBLE so i pulled it all out and theres some small 1 inch or so holes in the floor. ive been told i can just fiberglass over it or weld small plates on it, but what is the best yet cheapest way to go?

Look in the tech section, for a thread called rust repair for the non fabricator.. He uses rust bullet and fiberglass mat....

Unfortunately best and cheapest rarely go together.

alright. both sound tempting and i can do both, but would the fiberglass last as long as cutting it out and replacing it? ive been hearing alot of mixed things about it all

If you have a welder you can buy 66 mustang floors.... I payed 48 bucks a side... trim them on the tunnel side and they fit pretty good.... my toe boards were good so all I needed was the flat part of the floors.......... Note: you can buy just front or rear panel for about 26 bucks.....

I'd use 1/4" plywood, cut it to fit, and lay it under the carpet. No one will ever know.

Every repair job is different. Sometimes you can patch with fiberglass and sometimes you need to patch with metal and sometimes you need to replace the whole metal panel. Without seeing what you're working with...answering your question is a shot in the dark. My floor also had a few small holes that I patched with 'glass but one hole needed new metal. Your definition of small might be different than what I would call big. You can see what my floor looked like Here

well if it is alot of holes then your best bet is taking sheet metal and replacing it but if they are far apart then you can just tar it for a quick fix

yeah compared to yours, my holes are pretty big. i could stick two fingers through one of em. and theres a couple smaller ones around it. after some research it sounds like replacement is whats gonna happen. thanks guys
