Make exhaust kits for Mavericks. I put mine up for sale like 2 weeks ago. And i had over 35 guys wanting to buy it. I even have all the emails. And after it sold i forgot to remove the ad and i have gotten over fifteen emails since then. I have thought about doing this project but the cost of buying a mandrel bender is holding me back. The cheapest one ive seen was twelve hundred. Im thinking about sending an email to an exhaust company and including a zip file with all the emails i got. There is a downfall that i see though. For our cars one size wont fit all. The 70 Would be unique due to the nonstaggered shocks. 71-74 with the smaller tank. Then 75-77 with the large tank. Then double that for the I6 cars. Then also the fitment between different headers. Unless both the hookers and hedmans have the collector in the same spot. Then you have to take into account the guys running manifolds..... Or shorties... And also the 351 swap is popular..... And yeah it gets confusing.

There are still guys out there doing custom exhaust reasonably. Ask around guys in your area for referrals.

My guy here has the reputation of being able to put 3 inch pipes in cars that they should have never fit. He didn't do my duals, but he made my headers work for my 351W swap.... lots of cutting and rewelding. I currently have 2 inch pipes, and he said 2.5 inchers would be no sweat for him to do on my car. I doubt he will charge me more than $400 for pipes and mufflers.

I got custom duels with flowmasters at a local exhaust shop here for $250 plus tax. They are the black flowmasters so probably less expensive. Sound great.

How about just tail pipes?? Not so many variations there.

I could manage the exhaust pipes and mufflers. If I could buy some mandrel-bent tail pipes I could do the rest myself.

Where did you see a true mandrel bender for only $1200?
A lot of guys just buy the 70 Mustang exhaust kits, they're very close to our cars and fit with a little tweaking. Me, I just bought mandrel bent pipe from Summit and welded it up.

It was the first one that popped up after a google search. And my last exhaust was 60 Bucks. Including the dual flowmasters. Ive already built twelve exhaust systems. Including two turbo ones this year. And the mustang one wont even come close for the guys running the large tank.

Sidepipes eliminate the need for such trivial things as "clearing shocks" or "smaller tanks". 8 bolts DONE.

Got the same thing on mine and love it. A kit like that might make some money. Throw in some tail pipes that you could cut and weld to the center section and you'd have a semi-bolt in kit. Never really thought about making "kits" though because, I have a pipe bender.

I guess i was looking at something else. Lol. Thats so much. But it didnt look like the one magnaflow uses. Ive seen the ones they use. It looked more like a swinging tube bender. And I dont like the sidepipe look on mavericks. Unless its the svo type. Like someone on this thread has done :)

I'm sure if you're serious about it and could turn a profit and have the time to pursue it you could find someone to invest that money. Bryant and I are always scheming of producing something unique to mavericks. Not so much for a crazy profit but just to be able to make a little something on the side.

Prebent tail pipes with a heat shield(or air gap/double wall) that would fit around the larger fuel tank would probably sell. Heck, I might even buy some if they were available just to save time.

Theres no way around the larger tank. The only safe way is to go around the springs. The fox body stang tailpipes look like they might fit around the spring. Ive been meaning to try it out. Im very keen to exhaust systems :) its like my favorite part about cars.
