    I recognize that car. I know the guy who built it, although I haven't talked to him in years. His name is Mike Sommers. One of his brothers has owned numerous Mavericks over the years.

    That car was for sale 10 years ago for like $8500. I remember that it didn't have disc brakes at the time, and I was bummed that they'd cut a hole in a PERFECT Grabber hood for the tunnel-ram intake. The 302 had big valves and tall pistons in it as well.

    Years ago, I put a picture of a yellow '72 Maverick and a red '75 Comet on this site that used to belong to one of Mike's brothers.

    I don't know if the current owner is the same "Mike" or not. The car may have changed hands over the years...
