Quick note on a problem I am having. My car pulls good up till 5000 rpms and then it pulls awesome. At the lower rpms (1000-5000) it seems to have a small miss...a slight burble or a minor malfunction. At 5000 and above the engine smoothes out and really starts to pull hard, then I have to shift. The carb is as tuned as I can get it, timing is great. It kinda acted like this when I was getting antifreeze in one of the cylinders but that is no longer the case (thank God and Trick Flow). I am thinking that my next course of action will be to check the spark plugs. I have swapped out a couple of fuel pumps also. Are there any other suggestions out there??

Everything is new with only about 200-300 miles on it.

77 302, Track Heat alum Trick flows, stock electronic dist, MSD 6AL ignition, Comp Cams, 6901 headers.

Yes it is. Thats what I thought too....but does that account for the burble on the low end??

Hey jpollard do you have adjustable rockers? dont know if you know this as you may already, i never really did until i started hanging out with my brother in law when he went racing his dragster. if you tighten your valves down to stock specs it will give you power in the high end and if you set them about a quarter turn past "tapping" it will give you power on the low end which is where you want it. as with the slight miss feel you may have a valve out of adjustment. hope this helps.

You may be on to something there.... I adjusted my valves because I was getting a lot of valve train noise. I turned them down another 1/2 turn. I suppose I should go through them all again and pull the plugs to see how they look.
