I'm 17 (I always put this because it explains why I ask so meny stupidquestions. :D) and I'm putting in new bose speakers from my dads old infinity, and I was wondering if their was anything I should know before I pull the old radio out and put in my new system? Also if people have any ideas of where to put the speakers I would like to hear them :)

Did that mean you are getting the radio as well as the speakers? Just be sure not to reverse the polarity on the speakers, otherwise they wont sound as good as they could. If the speakers are 6 x 9... then put them in the rear deck

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
I always liked how nissans/infinitys came with the Bose setup. I have a Maxima in the back yard that still has them.

I was going to use some Chrysler New Yorker Bose speakers with an aftermarket head and they said it wasn't compatible and it would burn them up once you turned on the system. You need the whole system because it’s a matched system

I would test the speakers with the headunit not installed first, just do a bench test. Hook everything up with jumper wires, etc.

Interesting, who is they? I wonder if Chrysler used some very low impedance speakers?

An older guy at a stereo shop in Atlanta that knows his stuff...not a young kid working for minimum wage at Best Buys. If I remember correctly the speakers are some odd ohm like 4.3 or 3.6 each or something stupid like that. The six-way speaker system has it own amps made in each speakers that is driven by a pre-amp. Each speaker has 4 wires from the head. They are high tech speakers and not you’re everyday speaker you see with only 2 wires to make a sound.
