    I've just found out that my Speedometer Cable is broken, so decided to replace it. But I found 2 replacement parts;

    Which one should I go with?

    Melvin's Classic Parts sells this one: Part# c9zz-17260-a

    Search with the part # and it seems this is the same as the 69-73 Mustang Automatic or 3 Speed Manual. (I have a 3 speed transmission)

    But, I also looked at Summit Racing, this is for a 1971 Ford Maverick.

    My car is a 71', 4 door, 3 on the tree with a 289.

    Thanks for the help!

    I will sell you the correct used one for $15 plus shipping if interested. Email me DIRECTLY (see below) if I can help.

    I got one from the parts store but it was too long, so I ordered one from Melvins and while it was the perfect length, the plastic clip does not snap into place on the back of the speedo . It is working fine, but it can be pulled right off the speedo. I don't know if I just got a bad one, or if they're all tthat way. I really just didn't feel like messing with it anymore after replacing the cable twice.

    Thank you for the offer, already bought a used one too, from a donor car.

    Good to know, the one I bought does have a plastic clip and it works perfectly, although it is used. I wasn't going to buy it but we have speed cameras everywhere, so definitely need one.
